2018 Artist Fellowship Excellence Award
 

I have the great honor to announce that I have been recognized by the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development Office of the Arts with the Artist Fellowship Excellence Award in the discipines of Visual Arts, Illustration, Children’s Book Illustration, and Works on Paper.

The Artist Fellowship Program recognizes the artistic excellence of individual Connecticut artists in a variety of disciplines and allows these artists the opportunity to pursue new works of art and to achieve specific creative and career goals. The program is highly competitive: over 235 applicants were received for the 2018 round with applications reviewed by 48 professional panelists representing a wide array of artistic disciplines.

I had the pleasure to be a guest at Hamden Hall Country Day School and offer a collage workshop for their Second Grade students. What an amazing experience! In just one hour, the students drew and made their self-portraits with cut paper! I am so proud of them!

The Art of Picture Books : Creative Process in Visualstorytelling
 

Eight award-winning children’s book artists from the New Haven area, in collaboration with the Arts Council of Greater New Haven, have curated an exhibition of their work, with an eye toward revealing the fascinating process of creating original work for young readers. The exhibition features the work of Doe Boyle, Frank W. Dormer, Deborah Freedman, Lynn Reiser, Sanna Stanley, Jennifer Thermes, and Nancy Elizabeth Wallace and myself.

Picture This! at the Danforth Museum
 

My illustration We are going to tell the King has been selected for the Danforth Museum of Art Annual Children's Illustration Juried Exhibition that showcases new and original artwork created by picture book illustrators. The selected works will be exhibited from June 9–September 16, 2013.

This Year's Juror is Joann Hill who is currently Art Director at Disney•Hyperion Books in New York.

Madison Art Society 38th Annual Juried Exhibition
 

My painting, Flying by Lighthouse Point, has been selected for the Madison Art Society 38th Annual Juried Exhibition and Sale at Madison’s E. C. Scranton Memorial Library. The juror for the show is well-known Rhode Island plein air painter Cindy Baron, who is nationally recognized in both watercolors and oils, painting the grand landscapes of the western mountains and coastal shorelines.

The show runs from May 6 through May 30, 2013 at the Scranton Memorial Library, 801 Boston Post Road, Madison, Connecticut.

Good Morning has been awarded the James Jafferis Prize at the New Haven Paint and Clay Club 112th Annual Juried Art Exhibition. More than 113 pieces were selected by the juror, Helen Klisser During, for the show.

Two of my illustrations, Good Morning and We are going to tell the King, have been accepted by the Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles's 51st annual competition, Illustration West 51. An exhibit displaying the winning entries will be held at Gallery Nucleus in California, from March 8th through March 12th, 2013.
